Farewell -- Message from Berrand

It is with deep sadness that I write this message to announce the closure of MineCove, which has been a core part of many members' community and experiences for the past 12 years.
All funding has been expended to keep the server open until March 31, 2025, with a final meetup event day on the 31st to come and say farewell. The Birthday celebration for February and March birthdays will be on March 1, 2025.
This decision to shut down, in large part due to the ongoing challenges in maintaining sustainable infrastructure, will undoubtedly bring a sense of loss for all players - whether you're just starting your journeys with us or those of you who have spent countless hours, built lasting connections, and created something special here.
Over even just my short tenure, MineCove became much more than just a place for activity - it became a home to me, too. In learning about the history and past of MineCove, it was easy to see that the server grew into a place where friendships blossomed, memories were made, and a community flourished for a long time from the dedication of every single person involved.
I can say from my own heart that my efforts to try and sustain this space and prevent our closure for the last year and some were unceasing; when I was asked by Valphon if I would take ownership of MineCove it was on the precipice of this very circumstance, and I chose to say yes based heavily on that experience of finding this place to call a home.
That we were able to spend a whole year still together despite exhausting challenges with finances and infrastructure is not lost on me, and the inability to make this viable moving forward doesn’t diminish the incredible journey that so many have had together. The friendships, the laughter, and the shared experiences will stay with me, and I hope with everyone, as we each move forward from here.
While this is goodbye to our beloved server, I hope we can continue to support one another and find ways to carry the spirit of this place with us, even if in different forms. To that end, we will - so long as the community remains - maintain our Discord presence for the ability to share any future projects, help players make connections with other servers, and keep touch as time passes.
We will also have a few posts in the following week or so to address members who would like the schematics for their pink -> Astra build transfers and for Astra players with current builds.
I want to extend my deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to this community - whether through small moments or large, or whether you were just starting your journey or you have been with us the entire time - your presence mattered. I especially want to thank Valphon for giving us the opportunity to create and journey one more year together.
Thank you for being part of this incredible chapter in our lives, and we wish you all of the very best wherever your next journey takes you.
